David Lynch is a celebrated Memphis-based Artist who feels the Heart & Soul of this Great city in every brushstroke of paint applied.
Drawing at an early age, it spiraled over the years from one art course to another leading to the University of Memphis Fine Arts department. This was the launching pad into a career in Art and becoming a professional Painter.
Ephraim Urevbu was raised in Nigeria by a single mom in a family of eight. He dedicated himself early on to education as the key to success. He attended one of only three elite high schools in his hometown Warri, and Africa’s oldest art college, in Lagos, Nigeria. Refusing the proscribed expectation of an acceptable professional pathway, he put an ocean between himself and his family to follow his truth – a passion for art in America and the city of Memphis.
George Hunt (July 6, 1933 – December 4, 2020) was a celebrated Southern American artist, renowned for his vibrant portraits of Blues musicians and his iconic illustrations for Blues Festivals. His works are featured in numerous private collections, as well as galleries, museums, and various Memphis businesses. While primarily a painter, Hunt often incorporated collage elements into his acrylic paintings, adding a unique three-dimensional texture to his art.
Dr. Brian Rhoads was raised in the southern Bible belt in the town of West Memphis, Arkansas located directly across from the Mississippi River neighboring Memphis, Tennessee. With the rebirth of the NBA and rise of the early 1980’s legends, his love for basketball and other sports became deeply rooted within him. A dentist by trade, one can see the meticulous attention to fine detail that carries over into his distinctive style of art. With this unique style, he uses various acrylic mediums and textures incorporated with three dimensional sports equipment or birch wood panels as his canvas. Stirring up interest across the country, you will see a vast collection filled with purpose that appeals not only to the sports fan but to everyone.
Emery Franklin grew up in an impoverished area in South Memphis. The youngest of six children, he always aspired to be an artist. His first realization of his artistic talents were realized when he was in junior high at Vance Junior High School in Memphis. His art teacher would assign him projects to create drawings and paintings that were used to teach his classmates the techniques and skills of creating art.
