The Historic Union House is just a few doors from the original BA Framer in Midtown. The bonus of the move turned out to be 6,000 square feet of showroom and workspace—enough room to expand on the concept of custom framing, fine art, and art prints.
Midtown Framer has expanded to become a gallery with original art from Memphis' most talented artists. The gallery features artists that include Emery Franklin, David Lynch, Stephen Hudson, Nancy Cheairs, Danny Broadway, Debbie Crawford, Carl Scott, Ernest Withers, George Hunt, Rob Gonzo, Mike Manass, Greg Bowden, Richard Fisher, Mitchell Smith, Brian "Doc" Roads and much more!
Midtown Framer's expanded space also features Midsouth's best selection of Memphis fine art prints and photographs. Music, the river, sports, downtown, and aerial photographs—you'll find them all at Midtown Framer.
Danny Bubnick, owner of Midtown Framer and Art, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 surrounded by his family and friends. He is well known in the fine art and framing community in Memphis, having managed BA Framer’s midtown store for almost 20 years before opening his own frame shop and gallery in 2009. Danny’s wife, Carol, who has been a partner in the business since its inception, will take a more active role in the business and wants the community and customers to know that the experienced and dedicated team will continue to take the business forward by providing the same creativity, value, and service that Danny set as a benchmark.
Danny embraced his success by giving generously to the local arts scene, helping local artists and well-known and emerging artists to make sure their art was properly presented. He has also provided gallery space to dozens of artists to help boost their sales. Artists like George Hunt, Stephen Hudson, David Lynch, and Michael Mannes called Midtown Framer “home.”
At the same time, Danny made sure that Midtown Framer & Art stepped up to support cultural and art organizations along with other non-profit groups. When they put together their annual auctions, Danny saw to it that any donated art was graced with an appropriate frame. Organizations include The Orpheum, American Heart Association, The Blues Foundation, Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation – Art of Caring, Withers Museum & Gallery, the National Blues Music Art Museum, and his church, Hope Presbyterian Church. He was a solid driving force in helping make Memphis a better place and a more appealing city by showcasing its art.
Approaching his business as a family operation, Danny and his loyal staff have worked together for almost 20 years, providing a level of unique design and solid quality for many clients and customers.
